Tyson & Associates Leading Site Construction for Ofland Smoky Mountains

Ofland Hotels' first Tennessee property is expected to open in summer 2027.

Tyson & Associates is leading construction of the 27-acre site for Ofland Smoky Mountains, a new 75-cabin boutique outdoor hotel in Townsend, Tennessee, near Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Ofland Hotels, the Las Vegas–based outdoor hospitality company, broke ground on the project in September. It is the company's second property and its first in Tennessee.

The Project

Located just five minutes from the Cades Cove entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the property will include 75 cabins (71 standard and four ADA-accessible), a lodge with a general store and Southern-inspired food counter, a heated pool, an oversized hot tub, and an outdoor drive-in movie theater with seating for up to 150 guests. Each studio-style cabin will have a kitchenette, an en-suite bathroom, a private open-air shower, and a wrap-around deck with a campfire ring.

The Team

Tyson & Associates, which focuses its work in Southeast Tennessee, Northeast Alabama and North Georgia, is working alongside KDW (construction management), Boundary Works (architecture and site planning) and Wind River Built, a Tennessee-based modular builder that is custom-building the cabins off site.

Community Impact

At more than $25 million, the project is the largest investment in Ofland's history and is expected to bring about 30 new permanent jobs to Townsend and the surrounding area. Several Townsend city representatives and local businesses joined the groundbreaking celebration.
